Hey Kids!
How’s everyone doing? I’m doing okay. Been working on this plateau thing. Over the weekend I hit a gym and jumped on the elliptical for half and hour, then, spent about 20 minutes on the reclined bike and took an hour long muscle conditioning class. Gotta tell you... Mixing it up felt great! I highly recommend it.
Then I took a day to rest. Yep. Your Instigator needs to rest her body just like you. Except when I relax, I get all comfy in front of the TV watching a “Ghost Hunters” Marathon on the SyFy Network. Oooohhh…relaxing and kinda creepy at the same time!
After my day of rest I hit the gym again. This time I took in a spin class. In all honesty, most of you know I sweat in class…um…A LOT. But when it comes to Spinning...Niagra Falls ain’t got nothing on Your Beloved Fitness Instigator. I’m definitely digging the Spin these days.
As I’ve just now started up on my Beat The Plateau Program, I haven’t seen any changes…yet. It takes more than once a week.
So here’s my plan….

So here’s my plan….
I’m taking a Spin Class once a week. I’ve changed some of my class content. There’s more straight Hi Impact these days. And…here’s the kicker…I’m going to try Yoga. Yep. You read right. Yoga. I’m still searching for a class that will fit in with my schedule. Will let you know when I find one.
Of course, part of beating a Plateau is addressing your diet. As I’ve said before I’m not a Dietician, but, I do have a grasp on some of the basics.
– Make sure to eat Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
– Several small snacks throughout the day are a good idea. Just make SMART SNACKING CHOICES. I’m thinking that a small bag of Doritos and a Slim Jim ain’t moving in the right direction. Think fruits and veggies. You can eat tons of ‘em!!!
– Hydrate, kids. Don’t drink the depressing warm bottle of water that’s been sitting in your car since yesterday. Spoil yourself and suck back an ICE COLD GLASS OF WATER LOADED WITH ICE. Dudes! This is so crazy refreshing. You can add a packet of Crystal Light to it if you want. Either way. Drink it up and keep ‘em cold.
– Don’t be chowing down after 9pm. Kids, I get the (in my Mother’s words) “Hungry Horrors” at all sorts of odd hours. Fight it. Oreos and Chunky Monkey at 3am isn’t going to help us put a pitchfork into this Plateau.
Speaking of 3am, make sure to get your sleep. Your body needs it. Your mind needs it. And…a great night’s sleep feels….well…GREAT! You just work better when you give yourself the time to unplug and re-charge.
I’m going to continue to work on my Plateau Program. Hope yours are going well. Feel free to e-mail me with your progress, lack thereof or screams of anxiety. To help you (and me) along here’s a link to my all time favorite fitness website. This site ROCKS! It has everything from exercises, to diet tips to beauty advice! Check it out….
